100 Things

1. I sucked my thumb until I was 10
2. I have a younger brother who had a heart transplant when he was 19
3. I had another brother who died when he was a few days old. He had severe heart defects
4. I grew up having one grandfather, 2 grandmothers and 2 great-grandmothers in my life. I consider myself lucky in that respect
5. I wanted to be an auto mechanic when I was a child.
6. I’ve always had a dog in my life
7. I had a cat named Patches that ate my two white mice-Sniffles and Snowflake
8. I was a tomboy and I used to make ramps with the boys and jump over them with my bike.
9. For a year I would only wear jeans and flannel shirts
10. I went to Charm School.
11. I haven’t worn pantyhose in years. I prefer thigh highs…..with a garter belt…..
12. I went roller skating every Friday night for several years. I wore tube socks and short shorts. Damn that Chrissy Snow and her lack of fashion sense.
13. I broke my arm roller skating, on my 10th birthday
14. I had 12 stitches in my ass from sliding down a hill on cardboard, sans snow. (Seemed like a fun idea at the time)
15. My first concert was Rick Springfield when I was 12
16. My favorite artist now is Harry Connick Jr. I’ve seen him perform live 36 times. He knows me to see me now. It kind of freaks me out a little.
17. I prefer New Orleans musicians to all others
18. I met my husband at work. I was his supervisor
19. We met in March, got engaged in June and Married the following December
20. No one thought it would last
21. He is my soul mate and my best friend.
22. I received my Bachelors degree in Human Resources Management and Psychology. I got my Masters degree in Psychology
23. My first job post college paid $12,000
24. I worked in social services for nearly 10 years and hated every minute of it

26. My husband is a State Trooper, but he wasn’t when we got married. I don’t hold it against him…..much 

30. I never had a weight problem until I had kids

33. We had to play the “flutaphone” in 4th grade. I still remember the song we had to play for the spring recital (C, D, F, F, F, D, F, C, D, F, D,F, D, C, F, C, D, C, D, F, C, D, F G….)
34. I played flute in 5th grade. The instructor asked me not to come back the following year.
35. I chipped my front teeth in a swimming accident when I was 16
36. I broke my toe wearing flip flops
37. The best job I ever had was lifeguard at our neighborhood pool.
38. I used to tan constantly and now I’m terrified of getting skin cancer
39. I put Frank’s hot sauce on just about everything
40. I am obsessed with fleur-de-lis. I collect them in every form. I have everything from jewelry, to towels, home décor….you can find fleur-de-lis in every room of my house
41. I hate football but I love the Saints.
42. I am not athletic at all.
43. I ran track in high school because a girl in my homeroom threatened to beat me up if I didn’t
44. I hate conflict and do anything to avoid it
45. I hate watching movies in a movie theatre
46. I had an eyelid lift to correct a disorder with my drooping eyelids.
47. I had my wisdom teeth out and it was the worst experience of my life. Worse than childbirth
48. I work on a college campus and I love it
49. When I started working here 7 years ago I got mistaken for a student a lot. Not so much anymore. That makes me feel old.
50. My favorite city ever is New Orleans. I would rather be there than anywhere else at any time. Mike and I want to move there. I feel like I’m “home” when we are in New Orleans. I think I lived there in a past life
51. It’s my dream to visit Italy
52. I am of Italian, German, Irish, and Welsh descent
53. I believe in ghosts. I am certain my old car was haunted by a gentleman in a dark coat and hat. I also saw a ghost in my grandmother’s house when I was a child
54. My favorite band is Bonerama. I’ve lost track of how many times I have seen them perform live.
55. I wanted to be a travel agent at one point but only to get the free travel, then I remembered I hate customer service
56. I am terrified of fire
57. I’m afraid of Chucky
58. My favorite flowers are hyacinths, tulips and lilacs
59. Mardi Gras is my favorite holiday. Halloween is my least favorite.
60. I love Christmas but hate winter
61. Summer is my favorite season. The hotter the better
62. I hate the Jersey Shore but I love the Caribbean and Gulf coast and Cape Cod.
63. I’ve never been the to west coast, Canada or Europe

65. I hate NYC. I love DC, Chicago and Boston
66. Since having kids my tastes have changed and I now LOVE broccoli, cauliflower, spinach, cabbage, and green beans.
67. My foot size went up each time I was pregnant

69. I hate my hair and get it permed regularly so I don’t look like a drowned rat.
70. I can not under any circumstance “pack light”

75. I despise politics. I am neither Conservative nor Liberal. It all depends on the issue. I like to think for myself and not what some political machine tells me I should

77. I have four tattoos- a fleur de lis, a turtle playing the trombone, a Phoenix and a hibiscus. Only my husband can see the hibiscus. I still want at least one more.
78. I don’t get along with my mother. At all. We are polar opposites. She can’t accept that….
79. My favorite scent is “the beach” and I buy all products that have that smell- Coppertone, Bobbi Brown Beach, Yankee candles, little tree air fresheners…..
80. I have extraordinary hearing. It drives my husband insane
81. I am sensitive to smells and hate the smell of vanilla, patchoulie, and cinammon, They make me nauseaus.
82. I love to read. I’d rather read than just about anything else.
83. I’m shy and a homebody. It takes a lot of effort for me to interact with people and I find it exhausting.
84. I tried to highlight my hair once and it turned orange and I had to get it cut VERY short. It looked awful
85. I went to public school until 7th grade. My parents didn’t like my friends so they enrolled me in Catholic school. I got in trouble the first week there for explaining to my class what an orgy was.
86. I wanted to be a marine biologist in high school but flunked biology. I still love the ocean and everything to do with it. Dolphins are my most favorite animal.
87. I prefer Target to Wal-Mart or K-Mart. In fact Wal-mart scares me!
88. I am not crafty at all. I have serious burns from a glue gun
89. I have a scar on my leg from oven cleaner
90. I was raised Catholic but I have a lot of issues with organized religion in general, the Catholic church specifically. I do believe in God and I still send my son to a Catholic school however hypocritical that may sound.
91. I don’t know how I ever lived without tivo. I am a tv junkie. I need mindless tv to wind down at night
92. I prefer mac’s to pc’s, thanks to Wendy
93. I’ve met some of my best friends ever on the internet
94. I wish I was Southern
95. We currently have 2 dogs and 4 cats. I love them dearly but look forward to a pet free life someday.
96. I hate when people paint over beautiful wood. It’s freaks me out when they do it on Trading Spaces and those other home re-modeling shows
97. I am a morning person and am usually asleep by 10:00 pm
98. Theoretically, I would love to be a vegetarian but I really love beef and pork. Mmmmmm, bacon…
99. I hate all forms of seafood. Gag
100. I am “known for” getting lost whenever I drive somewhere
