Annoyances
I think one of the reasons I had problems getting into the Christmas spirit this year was because retailers everywhere have been cramming it down our throats since the minute the back to school sales ended. Actually even before that. In July I was bombarded with invitations to the "HALLMARK ORNAMENT PREMIERES". I’m sorry but in July I just cant think about christmas. There is truth in the "too much of a good thing" theory. I like to celebrate each holiday in a timely manner. I’m really starting to resent merchants extending the holidays by weeks or months to increase their sales.
When I went to the mall 4 days after Christmas, there was Valentine stuff out already! Tonight in the drug store they had Easter stuff out! ENOUGH I say!
I think there should be a law that stores can not advertise, decorate or display holiday items until 2 weeks before said holiday. And while we’re at it, lets extend that to political campaigns too. I get so tempted to not even vote because of all the advertising and signs that go on during election time. For months and months before the actual event. Give the candidates 2 weeks to campaign. If they are current office holders they should be doing their jobs and not out on the campaign trail anyway. Spare us all from the mud slinging, the lies and the barrage of "I approve of this message". Wouldnt the world be a much happier place?
