Lifetime Meme
Borrowing this lifetime meme from Nanette because I'm too distracted to write about anything right now.
10 years ago: July 1995 I was unemployed! I had been recently laid off from my job at Friendship House in their downsizing. I was working part time at a local bookstore just to earn some $$$ while I looked for a full time job. They liked me so much they promoted me to Assistant Manager.
5 years ago: I was getting ready to leave my job at Blue Cross to start my current job! Blue Cross was laying people off left and right and I was presented with the opportunity to come to Wilkes and I jumped on it! Two weeks after I left Blue Cross, my entire department was dissolved!
1 year ago: Lets see, last July....probably pretty much the same as this July, working, celebrating Turbo's birthday....
Yesterday: Worked, got my hair cut, ran a few miles at the track, ate a delishious spagetti dinner. Connor made the meatballs and helped Mike with the sauce! Watched a movie with Connor.
Today: Working, going to the gym, going to the mall later.
Tomorrow: If the rain stops, going to Claws N Paws or Bushkill falls. If it keeps raining, maybe do a project at home.
5 snacks I enjoy: Popcorn, tostitos and salsa, french fries, ice cream, nuts

Ok, Stacey posted her interview and I asked her to interview me. Here are my answers to her questions...geeze, I'm already stumped on #1!!!!

1. If you could only wear one pair of shoes for a month, what would they be?
Starting off with a tough one eh? Wow....thats something I hope I never have to face....so lets see. One pair of shoes for a month. Well, if it was summer, I would go with my tan White Mountian sandals. They are casual enough to wear with jeans or shorts and will still look fine with a skirt or khakis or capris.
In the winter I would go with the mid to high heeled black boot. Sturdy heels so I wouldnt have to hobble around all month on a broken heel like that time in DC......but still funky enough to not make people think I lost my mind by wearing "sensible shoes"
2. Your stranded on an island. What 3 things do you want with you?
Hmmm, my ipod and laptop......and a solar charger! I dont know if there is really such a thing but since we are imagining I'm stranded on an island, I'm imagining there is a solar charger. And yes I realize that I would not have internet acces but at least I could play Snood.....
3. You are given access to Donald Trumps Credit Card for 24 hours, what are you going to do?
I'd sit at my computer and shop! Why waste time running from store to store when I can access everything I ever wanted from shoes, to books, to movies,to cars to electronics without moving! I'd also book a few vacations and to top it off, I'd pay to rend a nice hall and fly all my friends in (to some nice island in the caribbean) and bring Bonerama in for a private concert!As I was typing this Jimmy came in and I asked him this question. He said he would buy a giraffe.
4. What would you do if you were on the MJ jury and you were the only one who thought he was guilty? Would you try to convince everyone? Give in to the peer pressure? Or Deadlock the jury?
I would present my arguments and try to convince people. I would hold strong and not give into the peer pressure. I couldnt just give in to give a verdict, I have to live with myself afterwards...
5. What is the one thing (not person) you can not live without?

I Think We've Turned The Corner....
I hate to even put this into words because you just know that by saying "I think it's finally spring", it will cause the atmosphere to rebel and dump a foot of snow on us next week.
But I do think that Spring is on its way to Northeast PA. Its not here yet. It was still in the 20's last night and only hovering in the low 30's right now. But the sun is out and there is promise it may reach 58 degrees today. Our huge employment fair is tomorrow and every year on job fair day it is sunny and warm, because I am trapped inside and cant get out to enjoy it.
But I do realize that this is probably a tease and although it may hit 60 degrees next week, and my tulips will start to bloom and the dogwood will bud, we will get another frost. Because without fail, the past 5-6 years, as soon as my hydrangea buds, it frosts, killing the delicate flowers and I end up with dead foliage all summer.
But the sun is shining today. It feels so wonderful on my face. No wonder I'm crankey all winter, with no sun to warm me. I love the sun. I spent way too many a day worshipping the sun. I still do but not as often and now I slather myself in sunscreen. Ah, the stupidity of youth, lying in the sun for 6 hours slathered in coconut oil....those were the days.
